Welcome to the Data Driven Disputes hub, a resource especially for in-house lawyers who need to understand the trends in disputes, what these mean for the future and the impact on their business.
Data is a powerful tool for driving change. That’s why we’ve adopted a research-led approach to use data to test hypotheses on key contentious issues and how they will develop in the future - including class actions, adjudication, sector-disputes, enforcement of intellectual property rights and the rise of ESG claims. Our research helps you, and us, stay up-to-date and use data-driven insights to inform dispute resolution strategies.
If you're interested in exploring any of the insight on this hub further, please get in touch.

The Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) regulation was introduced in 2018 to help the UK meet its net zero targets and is currently applicable in England & Wales. Since then, the legislation has been widely discussed for the role it should play in reducing the carbon footprint of non-domestic property stock in the UK. CMS is actively advising and commenting on MEES and here, we bring our MEES-related content into one place.
International arbitration trends - What the data says
CMS conducted a data-driven project to assess whether the number of arbitrations is decreasing and if there are trends that can be identified in this type of dispute resolution. We are publishing our findings in a series of five data-driven articles.
