Sean is an Associate in the Construction and Engineering team, specialising in non-contentious construction matters. Sean joined CMS Sheffield as a paralegal in October 2021, and qualified as a solicitor in July 2025.

Sean advises a range of private and public sector clients, including funders, developers, and sellers and purchasers. Sean has experience negotiating, drafting, and advising on a variety of construction documents, including building contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, and pre-construction services agreements (PCSAs). Sean also supports CMS’ Real Estate teams with other construction-related issues.

Relevant experience

  • A developer in relation to their GBP 245m regeneration of a brownfield site in Birmingham to a mixed-use neighbourhood.
  • The developer of a GBP 1.4bn regeneration of a 22 acre railway station and depot in Manchester into commercial, retail, leisure and public realm space.
  • An institutional investor on its proposed multi-million pound purchase of a portfolio of student accommodation in the UK.
  • A pension fund on its regional portfolio of commercial, industrial, and residential properties across the UK.
  • A property investment group on the construction elements of their multi-million pound purchase of 61 residential apartments. 
  • The original developer of a high rise residential building in Cardiff on the drafting of a professional appointment in respect of cladding remediation works.
