Lewis is a qualified European and UK patent attorney in the CMS London office Intellectual Property Department. Lewis joined CMS in 2020 as a trainee patent attorney and has remained at the firm through to full qualification. He has a technical background in physics and holds a PhD in Engineering where his thesis explored the development and use of novel high-resolution electrochemical testing methods in the field of corrosion science.

Lewis has experience in drafting and prosecuting engineering and technology related patent applications before the European Patent Office and the UK Intellectual Property Office. He works in a wide range of technical fields including electrode manufacture, optics and optical components, battery technology, mechanical engineering, processor design, machine learning, mixed/augmented/virtual reality devices and telecommunications. Lewis also has experience assisting the patent litigation team.
