Nick is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team. His practice is all aspects of contentious property and landlord and tenant law (including insolvency, rent review, opposed lease renewals, dilapidations and restrictive covenants) but with a particular emphasis on development work, including devising and running complex vacant possession strategies and advising developer clients on legal site constraints.

Nick's particular speciality is rights of light. He has developed an industry-leading rights of light practice and has devised and implemented the rights of light strategy on a number of high profile developments particularly in the City. Rights of light is arcane, confusing, ancient yet uncertain. Acting for Britel Fund Trustees Limited on defending the high profile case of CGIS City Plaza Shares 1 Ltd and another v Britel Fund Trustees (2012), establishing that the City Plaza building in Birmingham did not have a right of light over Britel's property; the case providing important clarification on the interpretation of historic rights of light deeds.

He writes articles for a number of publications including the Estate Gazette and the Property Law Journal.
