Sophie is an Associate in the Energy and Infrastructure team in Aberdeen. She advises clients on a broad range of energy law matters, including M&A transactions and supply chain issues. Sophie has particular experience supporting clients through a dedicated roles at TAQA. She has been practising as a solicitor since qualifying in 2023.

Alongside her client work, Sophie is an active member of the CMS Aberdeen Women’s Committee and volunteers at Social Bite, reflecting her passion for diversity, inclusion, and community engagement.

Relevant experience

  • Equinor on its 50:50 joint venture with Shell in the UKCS, in which each company will combine their UK offshore oil and gas assets to create the UK's largest independent producer. The JV entity will integrate Equinor's interests in the Mariner, Rosebank, and Buzzard fields with Shell's stakes in Shearwater, Penguins, Gannet, Nelson, Pierce, Jackdaw, Victory, Clair, and Schiehallion, along with various exploration licenses. 
  • bp on the sale of its operated Cashima, Flamboyant, Ahmerista, Immortelle and Parang fields in Trinidad and Tobago, to Perenco.
  • HitecVision / NEO Energy on its multi $bn acquisition and UK wide joint venture with Repsol UK, creating the second largest independent oil and gas company in the UK.
