FCA: Decision Notice: Crispin Odey

FCA has issued a Decision Notice against Crispin Odey. The regulator intends to fine him £1.8m and issue a prohibition order against him. FCA considers that he deliberately sought to frustrate Odey Asset Management’s disciplinary processes into his conduct to protect his own interests and showed reckless disregard for the firm’s governance, causing it to breach certain regulatory requirements. FCA considers that his behaviour towards both the firm and the regulator lacked candour. Crispin Odey has referred the Notice to the Upper Tribunal.
