Class actions are stereotypically considered a US litigation risk. Europe has avoided this phenomenon to date but, as a result of upcoming reforms in the UK and other European jurisdictions, this is likely to change thereby increasing corporates’ risk exposure.

What are the key features of class actions? What are the key developments at the European and Member State levels, and in the UK? What can businesses do about it? Are there hypothetical cross-border issues that companies should know about?

To respond to these questions, CMS is delighted to invite you to a webinar on European Class Actions, during which a multi-jurisdictional panel of dispute resolution specialists will explore:

  • The drivers for this development
  • The role of the EU, how member states have implemented class action reform or not, focusing on the UK, Austria, and the Netherlands as contrasting jurisdictions
  • The practicalities of conducting class action litigation in Europe and the roles of the claimant bar, litigation funders and the courts

We hope that you can attend, and we look forward to answering your questions during this webinar.
