CMS appoints four new heads of international expertise groups

CMS is pleased to announce new heads for three of its international expertise groups. All CMS lawyers work in cross-border groups in 87 cities across 50 countries that are structured according to the industries in which our clients are present.

Real Estate

Lindsey Barrett and Sebastian Orthmann have been appointed as the new Co-Heads of the CMS Real Estate Group.

Lindsey is based in London and handles a wide range of real estate transactions including acquisitions and disposals, development work and all aspects of asset management.  Lindsey advises both landlord clients and corporate occupiers.

Sebastian, based in Hamburg, provides advice to national and international investors and project developers on the acquisition and sale of companies as well as real estate and real estate portfolios (domestic and cross-border), both in the form of asset deals and share deals. His clients include institutional and private equity investors, banks, asset managers, family companies and corporates.

ESG

Döne Yalçın has been appointed Co-Head of the CMS ESG Task Force.

Döne is Managing Partner of CMS Türkiye and Partner of CMS Austria. She is also a driving force behind CMS's sustainability agenda and a member of the international leadership team responsible for the sustainable direction of our advice and CMS as an organization. With over 20 years of legal experience, she specializes in ESG compliance as well as corporate law/M&A (inbound investments in Türkiye and outbound investments in the CEE region and globally), contract law and litigation.

Private Clients

Andre Anthony has been appointed Co-Head of the CMS Private Clients Group.

Andre is based in Dubai. His practice covers both UAE tax and UK tax law. He regularly advises individual clients and family office clients on complex private client, cross-border and trust taxation matters. He also regularly advises financial institutions on the UK tax treatment of products designed for high-net-worth individuals such as life insurance policies. Andre also has a special interest in the taxation of private jets and yachts.
