EC Insurance Block Exemption Regulation
As part of its review into the Insurance Block Exemption Regulation, set to expire in March 2016, the EC has published a report and working paper which consider the functioning of the Insurance Block Exemption Regulation. The EC found that, with regard to joint compilations, tables and studies, the functioning of the insurance industry no longer appears to require an exceptional instrument like a Block Exemption Regulation and that it seems to be of limited use with respect to co-(re)insurance pools. The RC is holding a meeting with stakeholders to discuss the findings of the report on 26 April 2016.
