Green claims in focus: Food and textile sectors

We’ll begin with the general principles of the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive, then dive into sector-specific rules.

​For food sector, speakers will examine the German Federal Court of Justice’s ruling on climate-neutral claims and its implications for sustainability labels like Fair Trade and Certified Cocoa.

For the textile sector, our experts will cover specific rules affecting environmental claims, including eco-design with the future digital product passport and stringent French requirements, in particular the environmental qualities and characteristics sheets that have already been sanctioned, not to mention the upcoming eco-score, the Triman logo in a difficult position and the closely watched bill on fast fashion.

Expect examples of borderline claims, insights on data proof and need for transparency, and guidance on avoiding misleading advertising.

Based on the examples of Germany and France, we will provide information on the potential claims and risks traders may face in case they do not comply with the regulations. Learn how to prepare for these regulations and mitigate legal risks!
