Context
- The Angolan government launched a public tender for the concession of the right to operate, manage, and maintain the railway infrastructure and the public service of general and mining freight transport of the Namibe Corridor.
Tender
- The concession includes the operation, management, and maintenance of the infrastructure of the Moçâmedes/Menongue Railway Line, including the Freight Rail Transport Service, the Centre for Transport Innovation and Technologies (CITTRANS), and the General Workshops of Lubango and Sacomar.
- While the tender is open to both national and foreign entities, the concessionaire shall be required to incorporate a public limited company with its registered office in Angola, whose exclusive corporate purpose is related to the concession activities.
- The concessionaire shall be required to provide a security deposit equal to 5% of the total amount of fixed rents provided for in the contract.
- The contract shall be entered into for a term of 30 years, which may be extended up to 50 years if the concession includes the construction, management, and operation of the railway branch connecting to the Republic of Namibia or Zambia.
- The award of the concession shall be determined by the proposal offering the greatest economic advantage.

- Those interested in participating in the Tender may obtain the tender documents upon payment of a non-refundable fee of USD 20,000.00 (twenty thousand United States dollars) or the equivalent amount in kwanzas.
