Mafalda Alves da Silva is a Senior Associate in the Employment and Pensions team.

With 20 years’ experience in labour and social security law, she has particular focus on staff restructuring processes and redundancy programmes, as well as day-to-day employment advice and employment-related data protection and compliance issues.  

She acts for some of the major players in the market with particular expertise assisting companies from the pharmaceutical, financial services, retail, services and industrial sectors.

She provides day-to-day employment law and Human Resources advice to a number of clients, notably conducting and instructing disciplinary procedures, preparing legal opinions; defining employees´ hiring policies and organising working hours.

Mafalda has also successfully assisted a number of Senior Management, Managing Directors and Board Directors in negotiating the termination of their employment contracts.

Mafalda is acknowledged as Associate-to-Watch for Employment by Chambers Europe, 2023 and she is recommended by Legal 500, 2022.

Joined CMS Portugal in 2010.
