The Decree-Law no. 107/2023 was published on November 17th 2023, in which it was decided to increase the national minimum wage from EUR 760.00 (seven hundred and sixty euros) to EUR 820.00 (eight hundred and twenty euros).
This increase, which represents an increase of around 8% compared to the national minimum wage set for 2023, is due to be fully effective from January 1st 2024.
This increase takes place within the scope of the Medium-Term Agreement on Improving Incomes, Wages and Competitiveness, “Acordo de Médio Prazo de Melhoria dos Rendimentos, dos Salários e da Competitividade”, in which the Government set itself the objective of updating the Guaranteed Minimum Monthly Wage to reach EUR 900.00 (nine hundred euros) by 2026.
