Stuttgart – Envases Europe A/S (Denmark), which is a member of the Envases Universales Group, a leading global manufacturer of consumer goods packaging, has agreed to acquire HUBER Packaging Group GmbH.
A team headed by CMS partner Dr Maximilian Grub and principal counsel Dr Sabina Krispenz advised the HUBER Group and its shareholders on all legal aspects of structuring the transaction, contract design and the contract negotiations. The transaction is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2021 and is currently awaiting approval from several competition authorities.
Acquiring HUBER Packaging Group GmbH adds a leading manufacturer of metal and plastic packaging in Europe to the Envases portfolio. HUBER Packaging Group GmbH is based in Öhringen, Germany. It operates sites in Germany, England, Switzerland, Austria and Hungary and has more than 900 employees. The HUBER Group has a track record in packaging production stretching back almost 150 years. It is particularly widely known for its 5-litre beer keg with integrated tap (party keg).
Envases Europe A/S employs 1,100 people in Europe at production facilities in Denmark, Sweden and Holland, and supplies customers in more than 30 countries.
