Michael Rein advises German and international companies on all aspects of individual and collective employment law, with a focus on restructuring matters such as outsourcing, transfer of undertakings or change in operations. In this context, his work includes negotiating with employee representatives on reconciliation of interests, works agreements, social compensation plans or company-internal and restructuring-related collective bargaining agreements.
Michael’s practice also focuses on company pensions, advising on introducing, modifying and closing occupational pension schemes as well as structuring contractual trust arrangements. He is furthermore experienced in structuring the employment aspects of a Societas Europaea and covers all employment matters of corporate transactions, with a focus on cross-border mergers.
He joined CMS in 2011 and has been a principal counsel since 2019. He is co-head of the firm’s excellence cluster “occupational pensions” and author of numerous publications on occupational pension law.
