CMS has successfully advised Aratiden on putting into operation the last stage of the 130 MWh PV and 81 MWh BESS “Aratiden” project.

CMS began advising on the development of the project in 2019, including acting on its completed greenfield acquisition in 2022, followed by acquiring the requisite licensing with the Energy and Water Energy Commission (EWRC) in 2023.

The completion of the EUR 50m financing with Unicredit was finalised in early 2024. The initial two stages of the project were put into operation in late 2024, and the third stage was completed in November 2025. In the meantime, Aratiden Ltd. won a subsidy for its 81 MWh BESS facility from the Recovery and Resilience Plan and completed its construction on 4 February 2026. The overall investment in the project is EUR 140m.

CMS further assisted with the implementation of the Aratiden project by successfully acting on over 40 court cases initiated in relation to its implementation.

The CMS Sofia team consisted of Kostadin Sirleshtov, Borislava Piperkova, Elena Yotova – Yordanova, Diyan Georgiev, Vaska Solakova, Viktoriya Dimitrova, Petar Petrov, Stoyana Petrova, Niya Ivanova and Boris Kirov.
