Part-time ESG capacity building at CMS
A legal advisor on ESG has to have more than just regulatory knowledge. Through the international Executive Education Programme "Shaping the ESG Future of Business", CMS, in collaboration with the Center for Leadership and Innovation in Society at the University of St. Gallen, has created a bespoke training programme for selected CMS lawyers and Business Services staff which provides an in-depth understanding of sustainability management, as well as the sustainability-related and business management aspects of the sustainable transformation of the economy and businesses.
This part-time continuing professional development programme, delivered across several modules over a period of six months, provides comprehensive expertise on ESG topics that goes beyond a purely regulatory perspective. It is also directly applicable to day-to-day consultancy work and career development. The participants come from all CMS jurisdictions worldwide. The programme also promotes international and interdisciplinary networking amongst participants.
Since it was launched in 2023, over 100 CMS professionals have successfully completed the programme. They actively contribute their expertise to client advisory services on sustainable business practices and to sustainability management at CMS.
