CMS advises Alligator Ventilfabrik on sale of assets to Wegmann Automotive

Munich – Alligator Ventilfabrik GmbH has sold a substantial set of assets to Wegmann Automotive GmbH. The transaction included the equity interest in a joint venture in South Korea and the acquisition of assets belonging to the foreign subsidiaries of Alligator Ventilfabrik GmbH. The purchase price was not disclosed.

An international CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Joachim Dietrich advised Alligator Ventilfabrik on all legal aspects of the transaction.

Alligator Ventilfabrik GmbH is based in Giengen/Brenz, Baden-Württemberg. It is known for its tyre valves, spare parts and accessories, which the family-owned company sells under the ALLIGATOR, EHA, STOMIL and sens.it brands. The transaction enables Alligator GmbH to focus on the growth of exciting applications beyond the traditional tyre valve business. Alligator describes itself as the world’s leading specialist in air valves, with sales of almost EUR 60 million in 2018. It currently employs more than 400 people.

Wegmann Automotive, which has its headquarters in Veitshöchheim, is part of the Wegmann Group and manufactures products for the automotive and battery industries. According to the company’s own information, Wegmann Automotive is the world market leader for balance weights used on cars, trucks, motorcycles and buses.
