Hamburg – Investment vehicle Mayfair is taking a stake of around 40% in the Vapiano Group. Mayfair (owned by the families of Günter and Daniela Herz) joins Vapiano chairman Gregor Gerlach and the Sander family as shareholders in the successful catering chain company. Mayfair's investment is primarily aimed at speeding up expansion and driving development of the successful Vapiano concept worldwide.

A team led by lead partner Dr Christian von Lenthe advised Mayfair on the transaction.

Originally established in Hamburg in 2002 by Gregor Gerlach and others, Vapiano SE is now headquartered in Bonn. The idea is based on the concept of "fresh casual dining", a new category for restaurant chains. Fresh and fast Mediterranean cuisine combined with the modern, laid-back atmosphere of Vapiano branches guarantees success for franchisees around the world. Since the chain was established, more than 95 Vapiano restaurants have been opened in Europe, America, Australia and Asia. There are 43 locations in Germany alone.
