CMS Hasche Sigle advises Telefónica Deutschland on the largest IPO in Germany within the last five years

Munich – Telefónica Deutschland has successfully concluded its IPO. The shares have been traded on the Frankfurt stock exchange since 30.10.2012. In total, 258.75 million shares at an issue price of EUR 5.60 have been placed with investors (including 33.75 million over-allotted shares in connection with the greenshoe-option). Upon full exercise of the greenshoe-option, the gross issue proceeds would amount to EUR 1.45 billion. This is the largest IPO in Germany within the last five years.

Telefónica Deutschland is a subsidiary of the Spanish telecommunications group Telefónica S.A. and the third largest integrated telecoms operator in Germany. For the year ended December 31, 2011, the company generated revenues of €5 billion and had a market share of 16.6 percent in the German mobile services market (on the basis of subscriber numbers 2011). Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG is headquartered in Munich.

Back in 2009, CMS Hasche Sigle advised Telefónica on acquisition of Hansenet.
