Munich – Dr Rainer Runte, a director of Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA for many years, is joining CMS with effect from 1 June 2018. Dr Runte will work as of counsel in the Corporate practice area at the Frankfurt/Main and Munich offices, where he will primarily focus on compliance and corporate governance matters.

He brings excellent internal knowledge to the role from his senior management position at an international group of companies. With his extensive experience in developing and advising on complex compliance programmes, especially in the healthcare sector, he will further bolster our fast-growing compliance activities,” said Dr Hubertus Kolster, managing partner of CMS in Germany.
“Dr Runte is an acknowledged expert on implementing and structuring compliance management systems, with wide-ranging experience in US compliance procedures. Dr Runte was a longstanding member of the management board of Fresenius Medical Care and general manager at ATLAS Elektronik GmbH, part of the thyssenkrupp Marine Systems GmbH group. At ATLAS, Dr Runte was tasked with developing the compliance systems and played a lead role in the successful conclusion of ongoing compliance investigations. Dr Runte will retain his links with the company as a member of the supervisory board. He will also act in an advisory capacity for the management of thyssenkrupp Marine Systems GmbH.
