Catharina Dickhäuser advises companies, founders and investors on national and international M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions (buy side and sell side). Over the years, she has advised on numerous complex mergers, company acquisitions and sales as well as joint venture structurings, with a particular focus on the real estate, retail and e-commerce sectors. Catharina Dickhäuser also regularly supports post-merger integrations and restructurings. Her experience extends to the establishment of employee incentive programmes.

Catharina Dickhäuser joined CMS in 2025. Before this, she worked for many years in the corporate/M&A department of a major US law firm where she completed a four-month secondment at the New York office in 2019. From 2022, she worked as senior legal counsel (with responsibilities including M&A projects) in a medium-sized German industrial company.

Advice to clients was provided prior to Catharina Dickhäuser joining CMS

  • Strategic investor | Advice in connection with the purchase of a property portfolio consisting of five trophy assets valued at EUR 1.5 billion
  • Foreign company | Advice in connection with the phased purchase of a large German retail group including associated retail real properties and the establishment of a joint venture with a subsequent reorganisation and integration into the existing group
  • Strategic investor | Advice in connection with acquisitions of companies in the e-commerce sector, the establishment of incentive programmes for management participation and the preparation of the subsequent IPO
  • Foreign private equity investor | Advice in connection with the acquisition and subsequent disposal of a portfolio of 18 business hotels
