CMS advises Encavis with respect to cooperation on five onshore wind farm projects with ABO Energy
Hamburg – Encavis, a leading independent producer of electricity from renewable energy sources based in Hamburg, and project developer ABO Energy are expanding their co-operation. Encavis acquired the 48 MW Schierenberg wind farm in Brandenburg from ABO Energy. At the same time, Encavis entered into a cooperation agreement with ABO Energy for the acquisition of four further wind farm projects.
A CMS team led by Dr Holger Kraft and Matthias Sethmann provided Encavis with comprehensive legal advice on the acquisition of the Schierenberg wind farm and the conclusion of the cooperation agreement. Part of the advice included reviewing the projects and extensively negotiating the transaction agreements. Encavis once again relied on CMS, after CMS had already advised Encavis on the acquisition of five wind farm projects from ABO Energy in recent years.
The portfolio has a planned total output of around 106 megawatts. In addition to the Schierenberg wind farm, there are two projects in North Rhine-Westphalia, one project in Rhineland-Palatinate and one project in Saarland. The wind farms are currently under construction and are scheduled to go into operation between autumn 2026 and spring 2027. Once fully operational, the projects will cut more than 225,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
