Insolvency administrator Kühne transfers Grand Hotel Gravenbruch to Comer Group International

30 Oct 2026 Germany 2 min read

Frankfurt/Neu-Isenburg – Ownership of the historic Grand Hotel Gravenbruch in Neu-Isenburg is being transferred today to the global corporation Comer Group International. This brings the search for an investor within the insolvency proceedings involving the Allsco companies to a successful conclusion. The Comer Group has been established in Germany since 2006 and has many years' experience in the real property and hotel sectors; it already owns and operates several hotels in Germany.

"We have found a viable solution for the historic Grand Hotel Gravenbruch under exceptionally difficult circumstances," explained insolvency administrator Joachim Kühne, a lawyer at CMS. "Comer Group International is an experienced investor that is opening up new prospects for this historic venue by taking it on. What is particularly important to me is that this also gives all employees renewed hope for their professional future," Kuehne went on to explain.

The hotel was forced to switch to emergency operations in August 2026 as a result of sanctions imposed on a former shareholder and the associated restrictions. Since then the insolvency administration team has been working hard to find a solution that meets both the requirements of sanctions law and the interests of creditors and employees.

"This sale shows that even under difficult legal conditions it is possible to preserve economic value and create prospects for the future," said Kuehne. "I would particularly like to thank the staff, who have stuck with the hotel over the past few months despite considerable uncertainty."

The transfer of ownership marks a new chapter for the Grand Hotel Gravenbruch. The new owner will provide information in due course regarding further plans to resume the hotel's normal operations.
