Julian Siefermann advises German and international companies, including medium-sized businesses and large corporations, on all aspects of IT and data protection law.

His practice focuses on complex IT projects and outsourcing initiatives, particularly advising financial institutions on outsourcing agreements that consider the regulatory requirements of the European Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority circular MaRisk (minimum requirements for risk management). Julian also works on large-scale software and IT projects, drafting and negotiating contracts for the use of software and hardware as well as advising on the implementation of new technologies. In particular in industry-specific M&A transactions, he handles the IT and data protection law aspects of those deals.

Julian joined CMS in 2021.

Education

  • 2021: Admitted as a lawyer
  • 2020: Second state examination in law
  • 2018 - 2020: Trainee lawyer at Karlsruhe Regional Court, including placements in Frankfurt, Heidelberg und Stuttgart
