Katharina Hirzle advises companies on the legal framework and implementation of new technologies. As a Senior Associate specialising in IT law she focuses in particular on artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and the associated regulatory and contractual requirements. Her clients range from start-ups to large corporations, particularly in the technology sector.
She advises on the implementation of the EU AI Act, develops internal AI policies and assists with the assessment of regulatory risks. Other key areas of her practice include AI applications in software development, the drafting and negotiation of IT and licence agreements and legal issues relating to technology-driven M&A transactions. Crypto and tokenisation projects also form part of her advisory practice.
Katharina Hirzle has been with CMS since 2021. Prior to that she worked as a probationary judge in the judiciary from 2019.
