Stefan Bauer specialises in public law .He has long-standing experience as an administrative law judge and special expertise in immission control law, environmental law and recycling law as well as renewable energy law, advising developers from the energy industry and the infrastructure sector, operators of production facilities and circular economy companies as well as the public sector. He focusses on complex administrative proceedings, advising on the selection of appropriate procedural instruments and the preparation of application documents. Stefan also provides ongoing advice on various public law issues such as the risks and obligations associated with energy and infrastructure projects. In case of disputes, he represents his clients in court, drawing on the experience gained from his time as a judge.
Stefan started his legal career at CMS in 2005 before joining the judicial service of the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg in 2009. From 2015 to 2018, he worked as a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court. From 2020, he was a judge at the higher administrative court of Baden-Wuerttemberg and a member of the senate for immission control, waste and soil protection law as well as for freedom of information and data protection law.
He returned to CMS as counsel in 2024.
