Tobias Wacker advises on German and international tax law, with a focus on transaction-related tax advice and corporate tax law. His international tax law work mainly relates to exit tax and tax compliance matters. His practice also covers VAT issues.

Tobias joined CMS in 2022, after having specialised in tax law during his studies and legal training.

Education

  • Since 2022: PhD supported by the German Foundation for Family Businesses, thesis on international tax law
  • 2020 - 2022: Trainee lawyer at Stuttgart Regional Court, including placements with CMS in Stuttgart (corporate/M&A, tax law), research assistant at a boutique law firm (tax, corporate transactions) in Stuttgart
  • 2014 - 2019: Law studies at the University of Bayreuth with a focus on business and tax, plus additional training in economics with a focus on tax and corporate finance
