28 Apr 2026
UK universities are now presented with significant new opportunities in India following the introduction of regulations permitting foreign higher education institutions to establish campuses there for the first time.
As interest grows across the sector, many institutions are beginning to assess how best to approach this evolving landscape, and what the strategic, legal and operational implications might be when expanding into one of the world’s fastest growing education markets.
To support universities considering these possibilities, we will be hosting an in-person session on Tuesday 28 April, at our London offices, in collaboration with colleagues from CMS IndusLaw.
Together, we will explore – from both a UK and Indian perspective – the key legal, commercial and governance issues that UK universities should be aware of when evaluating the establishment of a campus in India. The session will provide practical insights, highlight common risks, and offer guidance on how institutions can position themselves to take advantage of this emerging opportunity.
Further information, including the full agenda, will be shared ahead of the event.
