Health and Safety

This health and safety course will support staff in understanding their responsibilities for protecting their own health and safety and that of others in the workplace. It explains the key principles of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, helping learners understand how these requirements apply to their day-to-day roles.

Using practical workplace examples, interactive activities and short explainer videos, the course explores how to identify hazards, assess risks and apply appropriate control measures. It also covers employee responsibilities, emergency procedures, the importance of training and the steps individuals should take when they identify a health and safety concern.

Who is it for?

All staff within an organisation who are either onboarding to the business or require a refresher on key workplace health and safety principles and responsibilities.

Course objectives

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the key duties of employers under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
  • Identify their own responsibilities as employees in contributing to a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Recognise common workplace hazards and understand how risks are assessed and controlled.
  • Describe the key elements of emergency procedures and the importance of ongoing safety training.
