The following information should provide you with answers to some of the questions you may have relating to 'spamming' and 'framing'.
1. What is meant by the term 'spamming'?
Spamming is the process by which a person sends out unsolicited e-mails to a huge number of addresses. It is basically junk e-mail which might annoy your own customers and might at worst contain defamatory or obscene material which gets traced back to you.
If you look at the computer press in any one week, you are almost guaranteed to see an article showing how spamming is the curse of the internet because not only does it use up people's computer capacity, thereby slowing down their system, it also takes up the user's time in reading the material, even if they then simply delete it.
2. What is 'framing'?
Framing is the process by which you can incorporate a part of someone else's web page within your own. It is not an uncommon practice although some companies object to it very strongly on the basis that it can interfere with the way that a user navigates around the company's own website.
When negotiating a website development contract, you may wish to include an undertaking from your website developer that it will not frame your own (or indeed any third party's) material.
