International law firm CMS has advised long standing media client, Fremantle, on its acquisition of Asacha Media Group, a leading European TV production group with TV production businesses: Kabo, Srab Films and Mintee in France, Picomedia and Stand by Me in Italy and Arrow Media, Red Planet Pictures and Wag in the UK. The acquisition is conditional on customary closing conditions.

Fremantle is a world leading creator, producer and distributor of entertainment, drama, film and documentary content. The acquisition of Asacha Media Group underlines Fremantle’s strategic plan to invest in and develop premium production companies and creative talents from around the world.

CMS Client Relationship Partner Simon Morgan commented: “We are delighted to be advising Fremantle on this major multi-jurisdictional acquisition. We look forward to seeing the Asacha companies continuing to produce outstanding programmes under Fremantle ownership.”

This acquisition follows on from Fremantle’s acquisition of Beach House Pictures last week, a Singapore based TV production group, on which CMS also advised.

Simon Morgan and media partner Selina Potter led a large multi-disciplinary and multi-jurisdictional team advising Fremantle involving lawyers from CMS UK, CMS France and CMS Italy.

CMS is a leading adviser on high-profile transactions in the media, communications and technology sectors.
