CMS has advised Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), the investment arm of the Norwegian central bank, on its significant joint venture with The Pollen Estate, one of London’s most historic property portfolios.
The transaction will see NBIM, which already holds a majority interest in the estate, invest a further £127m to unlock new investment and development opportunities across the Pollen Estate’s prime Mayfair holdings.
The Pollen Estate, established in 1812, comprises 43 assets primarily situated between Regent Street and Bond Street, with a balanced portfolio of office and retail space. The joint venture brings together the estate’s families, other beneficiaries, and NBIM, further strengthening their long-standing partnership and supporting the estate’s ongoing revitalisation.
Amanda Howard, CMS Partner and Head of the Funds and Indirect Real Estate Team, commented: “We’re delighted to have supported NBIM on this joint venture. The Pollen Estate holds assets in a unique and historic part of London, and this partnership will help ensure its continued stewardship and development. At CMS, we have deep real estate sector expertise and are experienced at advising on complex, high-value real estate investments in the heart of the capital.”
The CMS team was led by Amanda Howard and included Molly Greenslade and Thomas Dawson (Corporate); Jonathan Groom (Real Estate); and Phil Anderson and Henry Bolton (Tax).
