CMS has advised Pathé on its acquisition of five major titles from the Celador Films library, closing the sale with Paul Smith CBE, the founder and owner of Celador Films.

The acquisition includes the Academy Award-winning SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE directed by Danny Boyle, Neil Marshall’s CENTURION and THE DESCENT, THE DESCENT PART 2 from Jon Harris, and Tom Harper’s THE SCOUTING BOOK FOR BOYS. These films now join Pathé’s prestigious library.

PATHÉ is a leader in the cinema industry worldwide, operating as a film studio in France, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland and North Africa. It is involved in all aspects of filmmaking, from development and production through to international sales, distribution and exhibition.

Commenting on the acquisition, Pathé’s President Ardavan Safaee says: “We are delighted to be bringing these titles, which have enjoyed both commercial and awards success, into the Pathé library, and look forward to exploiting them for many years to come.”

This transaction builds on a long-standing partnership between Pathé and Celador Films. Pathé has collaborated on the development, production and sales of many Celador film projects, selling all acquired titles on their behalf for many years.

The CMS team was led by partners Rebekah Hayes and Nick Crosbie, with support from associates Cameron Jones and Laurel O’Dell. Further support was provided by Mark Joscelyne, Coralie Barker, Belinda Sweeney, Anisha Gill, and Shaina Haria.
