CMS has advised Investment Manager, Temporis Capital (Temporis), on the construction and operational agreements for a 100MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in the Scottish Highlands. Clarke Energy is providing a full EPC and long-term O&M agreement, and wrapping sub-contractor Trina Storage is delivering the battery supply and long-term service agreement in relation to the BESS equipment.
This project represents Temporis’ expansion into the energy storage sector. Scheduled to begin operations in Q1 2026, the Boat of Garten BESS will strengthen Scotland’s electricity grid and support the UK’s net zero carbon goals.
Temporis Capital Investment Director, Tom Harada comments: “We very much enjoyed working with the CMS team throughout and appreciate the hard work and valuable sector experience they brought to the process. We are very happy with the results and look forward to successfully delivering our first battery project.”
CMS Energy & Climate Change Partner Philip Duffield comments: “We are pleased to have supported the Temporis team on this significant project. The development of battery energy storage systems such as this, highlights the UK’s ongoing efforts to enhance grid stability and reduce carbon emissions in line with its net zero objectives. Our team’s experience in electricity storage allowed us to provide tailored advice to Temporis on this project.”
