CMS UK is excited to announce its new partnership with Sustainability Unlocked, a leading provider of expert-led, on-demand sustainability and climate change training, as part of its commitment to advancing sustainability knowledge both within the firm and externally.
Sustainability Unlocked delivers a proprietary skills platform providing tailored learning journeys, co-created with world-leading experts to help build sustainability skills enterprise-wide. Professionals can deepen their understanding of key sustainability issues at their own pace, with topics spanning Climate & Biodiversity, Corporate Governance, ESG Financial Markets, Net Zero Innovation, Sustainable Workplace and Targets & Disclosure.
To further cement the partnership, lawyers from across CMS are also contributing specialised video content to the platform, sharing valuable legal insights with users.
“By partnering with Sustainability Unlocked, we are equipping our people with knowledge that extends beyond legal training. We are providing them with a broader and more holistic perspective on sustainability issues, enabling them to confidently engage with clients, colleagues, and the community while being well-prepared for the challenges of the future,” says Barbara Mendler, Chief Operating and Sustainability Officer, at CMS UK. “The high level of engagement we’ve seen so far reflects our commitment to sustainability for our people, clients, and communities.”
"At Sustainability Unlocked, we believe that the legal sector holds a unique position to drive the sustainability agenda forward. By partnering with CMS, we're not only amplifying the critical role law firms play in shaping sustainable practices but also empowering professionals across industries." says Prasad Gollakota, Chief Content Officer at Sustainability Unlocked. "The insights and expertise shared by CMS on our platform will help accelerate the adoption of sustainability skills, helping businesses around the world navigate change and seize the opportunities that a sustainable future brings."
Beyond this initiative, CMS continues to partner with Young Citizens UK to boost young people's knowledge of the legal system generally, and to inspire young people to think critically about climate action and explore how the law can drive meaningful change. This programme, available free to all UK secondary schools, covers important topics such as responsibility for climate action and the role of law in real-life cases.
“At CMS, we understand that real progress on climate action starts with education and awareness,” adds Mendler. “Whether we're equipping our people or empowering future generations, providing access to the right knowledge ensures we can make a real impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.”
