CMS ranked as top employer for social mobility

International law firm CMS has been ranked a top UK employer for social mobility for the sixth consecutive year. The firm has ranked 19th in the 2022 Social Mobility Index.

Created in 2017, the Social Mobility Index is an annual benchmarking tool that helps UK organisations understand how they are performing on social mobility and where they can improve. It identifies the top 75 UK employers that have taken the most action to improve social mobility in the workplace across seven key areas, including work with young people, routes into the company, how they attract talent, recruitment and selection, and progression.

CMS has implemented a series of programmes to promote diversity within the firm and inspire students to consider a legal career. Our Law Scholarship programme makes a career in law more accessible to aspiring lawyers by awarding up to ten scholarships each year, paying £2,500 towards each year of their undergraduate degree, mentoring students applying to university and providing paid work experience.
