CMS strengthens London Energy Finance offering with key appointment

21/03/2016

CMS is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicholas Ross-McCall as a partner to the firm’s asset finance team in London. He joins CMS from Ashurst, where he trained and undertook a secondment in RBS’ energy finance team.

Nick has over ten years’ experience in the development and financing of energy projects, both in the UK and globally. Nick has a particular focus on upstream oil and gas debt finance products. He is recognised as a leading practitioner in upstream reserve based lending having worked on deals involving assets in most of the major oil & gas basins. His financing practice spans the energy sector as a whole, with considerable power expertise (both thermal and renewables) and experience in the LNG and midstream sectors. His clients include oil and gas majors and independents, energy project developers, and investment and international development banks.

Rita Lowe, Head of Banking and Finance for CMS, comments: “We look forward to welcoming Nick to the team. His practice builds on our global finance offering, bringing significant sector focused experience across oil and gas, power and energy infrastructure finance.”

Nick, comments: “I am delighted to be joining CMS. Its long standing market leading energy team and recent expansion into many frontier oil and gas provinces provides an enviable platform on which to develop its energy finance practice.”

Nick’s appointment is the latest in a string of appointments for the firm and follows the recent hire of Islamic Finance specialist Shakeel Adli as a partner in the firm’s Dubai office and oil and gas M&A partner Jonathan Woolf from BP in November.
