International law firm CMS has welcomed partner Mark Whiteside to the Corporate Tax team.  Mark will be based in Manchester.

Mark is an experienced tax expert focusing on transactional work (both corporate and real estate) providing advice in relation to company mergers, disposals and reorganisations, shareholder tax advice and negotiating transaction documents, alongside other areas such as advising on enterprise investment schemes and venture capital trusts, employee incentives and VAT advisory work. He joins the team at a time of ambitious growth for the practice and will focus on developing and growing the tax offering to service clients, such as corporates, PE houses and real estate investors both in the North and across the UK.

Aaron Fairhurst, CMS Partner and Co-Head of Tax said: “We’re delighted to welcome Mark to the team. His deep tax expertise and knowledge of the local markets will strengthen the advice and guidance we are able to give to clients in the North and UK-wide.”

Mark added: “Joining CMS gives me an opportunity to expand the firm’s tax offering in the North, as well as bring my local market knowledge to support the wider existing Tax team and my CMS colleagues operating in key industry sectors and practice groups.”

Mark joins from Brabners.
