CMS is proud to congratulate Dame Fiona Woolf DBE, Partner at CMS, Alderman of the City of London and Former Lord Mayor, on becoming a patron of Pride.

Over 300 leading members of London’s business community gathered yesterday evening at Mansion House for the annual Pride in London Gala Dinner, which raises funds for the week-long festival, celebrating all aspects of the LGBT+ community.

At the Gala, it was announced that Fiona Woolf DBE, was becoming a Patron of Pride in London. Dame Fiona joins Sir Elton John, David Furnish, Sir Ian McKellen and Martina Navratilova who are all Patrons of the organisation.

Dame Fiona is a passionate champion for diversity within CMS and the wider community. In January 2014, during her time as Lord Mayor, Dame Fiona launched the Power of Diversity programme, which works to highlight and discuss the critical steps that the City at all management levels must take to maximise the energy and innovation that diversity can bring to business. Dame Fiona’s portrait also features in the Purple Reign photography exhibition, celebrating her work as a powerful straight ally to the LGBT community.

On receiving the accolade, Dame Fiona said: “Last year I was delighted to host the first LGBT+ events at the Mansion House, the launch of the Purple Reign exhibition followed by the Pride in London Gala Dinner; it was an important moment both for Pride and to highlight diversity in the City. I am now honoured to be joining such an outstanding team of Patrons, and thrilled to be continuing my association with Pride. Together we will be working to ensure that talent is allowed to rise uninhibited in the capital, so people can be out and proud in all parts of London.”

CMS is delighted to see Dame Fiona recognized as a true “Pride hero” in accordance with this year’s parade theme. CMS is extremely proud of both our internal and external commitments to diversity, which are central to our business strategy and our inclusive culture. The foundations of those commitments lie in our exceptional people, and are led by inspiring role models such as Dame Fiona.
