Ana Stein is a Foreign Qualified Lawyer (Brazilian and Portuguese Bar) and an associate in the Energy & Climate Change team at CMS London. With over ten years of experience, Ana specialises in clean and flexible energy renewables, advising developers, investors, lenders, and offtakers on all aspects of renewable energy projects, including contracting, construction, operation, and commercial matters. Her clients include energy companies, investment funds, and corporates engaged in complex cross-border transactions.

Prior to joining CMS, Ana practised in Brazil, focusing on regulated sectors, infrastructure, and M&A, and played a key role in major privatisations within the energy and sanitation industries.

Relevant experience

  • Anonymised client in coordinating due diligence and regulatory advice for the potential acquisition of up to 1GW of solar projects in Brazil, including various licensing and project development issues, land use deeds and ancillary documentation.
  • A confidential battery storage developer on the negotiation of BESS, BOP, SCADA and LTSA contracts for the development of a portfolio of battery energy storage projects in the UK (250MW / 580MWh).
  • A confidential big tech company on corporate PPAs for projects in the EU and the UK.
