Anchali Muraleetharan

Anchali joined the Financial Services and Regulatory team at CMS on qualification in 2019 following completing a seat in the team during her training contract. Anchali trained at NatWest and has had extensive experience working with internal stakeholders at the bank advising on a variety of matters moving between different areas of the bank including NatWest Markets, Commercial Banking and Coutts Legal. 

Anchali has experience working with firms in the financial services sector on contentious and non-contentious matters, including drafting financial crime policies, advising on whether business processes meet AML requirements, reviewing investment fund documentation and assisting with cross-border projects. She has advised and supported on various FCA enforcement matters and where clients have been subject to skilled persons reviews. She has completed a secondment in the contentious regulatory team of a major retail bank.
