Angus is an Associate with the Strategic Secondment Unit, a dedicated and experienced team of lawyers who support our clients directly through regular in-house secondments. Previously acting as a General Counsel at a technology company, Angus joined the SSU in May 2022 and has now undertaken multiple secondments with several multinational clients managing projects and transactions and providing advice in-house on commercial contract issues. 

Angus has a keen interest in legal technology and optimising service delivery. Angus has worked with multiple clients to build out systems and processes to solve key issues, improve efficiencies and better integrate legal functions with the business. He won the Law Society of Scotland 2021 In-House Rising Star award for his work at a previous company building their legal function from the ground up where he also acted as the company secretary as they grew rapidly through several seed funding rounds.

  • Six months secondment with a state-owned multinational energy firm as sole counsel for their British networks business. 
  • A leading offshore engineering and equipment provider looking after their commercial contracts as the sole in-house solicitor during a merger.
  • A multinational energy company working on varied transactions as part of the in-house team supporting their British networks business.
