Christine Worthington is a partner in the Construction and Energy & Projects Team.

She specialises in construction law advice with experience in the delivery of energy, engineering, commercial property and infrastructure developments of national significance.

Having specialised in construction law for 20 years Christine has experience with all major industry standard form contracts (NEC, SBC, JCT, FIDIC, IChemE and LOGIC) PPP/NPD contracts as well as bespoke contracts. She acts for a range of different clients including owners, developers, contractors, authorities, consortia and lenders on delivery of transport projects, project financed developments and major engineering projects as well as property development and enhancement schemes.

Christine works in the energy and climate change sector across renewables, offshore and onshore wind, coal and nuclear generation as well as district heating and solar projects.

Christine is recommended as a specialist in Construction law in Legal 500 2020 as well as being individually ranked in Energy and Projects.  Christine is also ranked as a construction specialist in Chambers 2020.  Christine has a masters degree in construction law and received a 2020 Acritas Star.

  • Major property developers on city centre and out of town retail scheme and accommodation projects.
  • Public bodies on construction procurement strategy and contracting terms for high profile major capital investment schemes within public sector procurement process.
  • Leading construction diligence for investors and lenders for transport, renewables, accommodation and property development schemes included reporting on forms of contract; appointments; bonds, guarantees and collateral warranties as well as insurance and review of technical advisors appointments.
  • Power generators in relation to major equipment upgrades; clean technology installation; fuel waste storage and ongoing operational issues across multiple sites as well as providing diligence review of construction contract for purchase of existing generation assets.
