Georgia is an associate in our Technology and Media team. She advises both UK-based and international clients on a wide range of commercial, regulatory, transactional media and technology matters, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts from general procurement to the supply of services, software-as-a-service and software licensing, as well as distribution, advertising, collaboration and brand licensing agreements. She also has experience working on large transactions in the media sector involving joint ventures and syndications. 

Prior to joining CMS, Georgia has also spent significant time working in house, working in the commercial/IP/IT team at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia as well as regulatory experience, working for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Australia’s national corporate regulator.

Relevant experience

  • BT on its agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. to form a 50:50 joint venture company to create a new sports offering for the UK and Ireland. 
  • A global telecommunications company on its syndication agreements. 
  • A global television and film producer on advertising restrictions.
  • Comcast on its partnership with African media company MultiChoice Group for the Showmax streaming service, involving advising on the supply of TV content and the provision of services across all markets, as well as due diligence on the existing business.
  • A multinational consumer goods company on a range of commercial contracts, including its agreements with major IT suppliers.
  • A number of financial services companies on a range of matters, including technology contracts and services agreements as well as regulatory advice. 
  • Audiobook provider on various commercial and regulatory matters.
  • Commonwealth Bank of Australia on its AUD $1.7 billion dollar agreement to sell a 55% interest in Colonial First State to KKR, involving negotiating and settling the master services and transactional services agreements as well as all intellectual property related transaction documents.
