Howard is a partner in our Corporate group, heading the Corporate team in Manchester. He specialises in UK and multi-jurisdictional corporate finance, fundraisings, public and private M&A, joint ventures and corporate governance. Howard has a particular focus on the Real Estate, Hotels and Retail sectors.

Howard has been a regular attendee at the Berlin International Hotel Investment Forum and The Annual Hotels Conference.

Relevant experience

  • Manchester Airports Group on the sale of its non-core portfolio of assets at Manchester International, Stansted and East Midlands Airports for in excess of £350m.
  • RDI REIT P.L.C. on its £468m recommended takeover by Starwood Capital Private Equity.
  • RDI REIT P.L.C. on a number of deals including its class 1 acquisition of AEGON's UK property fund for £490m, the associated placing to raise £115m, the acquisition of LSO Limited for £163m, acquisitions of German commercial property portfolios worth over £350m, a cash box placing to raise £76m and its conversion to a REIT as a premium listed company of the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.
  • Bibby Line Group on the sale of Costcutter Supermarkets Group incorporating the Costcutter, MACE, Simply Fresh and Kwik-Save brands.
  • The Sellers of UKFast Group Limited to Inflexion Private Equity for in excess of £400m.
  • A joint venture between Argent and GMPVF on the sale of 1 St Peter's Square, Manchester to German property fund Deka for £163m.
  • Green Property Group on the sale of Kish Twelve Limited for £245m.
  • Redefine and BDL on their merger to create the UK's largest independent operator of hotels, RBH Hospitality Management Group.
  • RDI Hotel Group Limited on its take-private of Luxembourg listed International Hotel Properties Group Limited.
