James is a Senior Associate in CMS’ Insurance & Reinsurance group specialising in construction claims. He has 15 years’ experience of dealing with a variety of construction related disputes.
Prior to joining CMS James trained and qualified at firm specialising in construction and the defence of professional indemnity claims where he advised insurers and a variety of construction professionals.
He then worked in the Construction and Engineering Disputes & Risk team at a large international law firm for 8 years (ranking as a Key Lawyer in Legal 500). In that time James acted for a variety of employers, developers (commercial and residential), funders, contractors, and subcontractors. He has experience in resolving all manner of claims (including defects, delay / disruption, loss & expense, and professional negligence) using all forms of dispute resolution procedures (including mediation, arbitration, litigation, and adjudication).
James has also completed secondments at Buro Happold Engineering and Balfour Beatty Plc.
