Katherine is a digital assets, corporate and funds lawyer with over 20 years' experience. Her practice sits where traditional finance meets digital assets. She advises on tokenisation, cryptoasset regulation, M&A and special situations for asset managers, banks, private equity sponsors and regulated fintech businesses. 

Katherine trained and practised at Slaughter and May and Debevoise & Plimpton and co-founded Avantia Law, an alternative legal services firm serving more than 100 institutional clients, now part of Carta Law. Katherine has held senior General Counsel roles, including leading the first wind down of a UK cryptoasset firm under FCA special administration.

  •  Emergency General Counsel of Ziglu Limited, guiding the board through FCA enforcement proceedings and the first special administration of a UK cryptoasset firm.*
  • A leading US cryptoasset business on European expansion, including MiCA licensing strategy and VASP authorisations across multiple EU jurisdictions.*
  • Institutional asset managers on LP transfers, secondaries and fund subscriptions in the USD 10m to USD 50m range.*
  • Private equity sponsors and financial institutions on cross-border M&A, insurance M&A and distressed debt transactions exceeding USD 8bn in aggregate.*
  • Retail banking clients on financial regulatory matters, including FCA proceedings, and on UK public takeovers and major bank disposals.*
