Katie is a Senior Associate in the Construction and Engineering team, specialising in non-contentious construction matters. Katie qualified in 2019 and joined CMS in October 2022.

Katie has experience advising on various forms of contract from JCT and NEC standard suites, drafting schedules of amendments and negotiating the terms with third parties on behalf of a broad range of clients. Katie also prepares and negotiates ancillary documentation, including collateral warranties, guarantees and bonds and drafts bespoke forms of consultant appointment, as well as reviewing and negotiating appointments in order to advise consultant clients. As part of the wider commercial team, Katie provides construction advice in relation to asset and share acquisitions and prepares construction reports for various high value transactions.

  • On contracts relating to the JV undertaking development of land around a large national airport, including advising on the structure and operation of the JV in the context of construction operations. 
  • An international theatre group, including contract preparation and advising on contractual management issues in relation to its various developments throughout the UK.  
  • The developer of a residential site in Knightsbridge, drafting and negotiating the suite of construction documentation for redevelopment works. 
  • On a suite of construction management contracts in relation to a development at Canary Wharf. 
  • In relation to the construction aspects of an acquisition of industrial sites, valued at over GBP 500m. 
  • On construction aspects of the acquisition of a residential portfolio totalling 270 units. 
  • In relation to the acquisition of a recently converted Grade II* listed luxury apartment building in Mayfair. 
  • On construction aspects of the acquisition of a portfolio of office space across London at various stages of conversion to residential apartments. 
  • A premier league football club in relation to proposed development of its existing assets. 
  • An NHS Trust in relation to the construction of a new mental health ward.
