Kevin specialises in contentious and non-contentious construction, property, energy (including renewable energy), engineering, and complex first-party coverage insurance. Kevin helps clients to find pragmatic solutions from first notification through to full-blown disputes and has extensive experience of all forms of ADR, adjudication, mediation, arbitration and litigation.  

Kevin’s practice focusses primarily on complex coverage disputes under CAR, EAR, public and products liability, property damage, business interruption, energy and renewable policies both in the UK and internationally (most recently in Northern and Central Europe, South Africa and the Middle East) and has acted on numerous high value claims involving large-scale construction and project infrastructure, provides non-contentious advice on the insurance provisions of project and construction contracts and structured finance agreements.  

Kevin is active in the wider construction, property and energy claims market, often called upon to speak at conferences and lectures, and was recently involved in founding the London Market Claims Golf Society, set up to encourage cross-market interaction between claims professionals, lawyers, loss adjusters and experts whilst enjoying their favourite past-time.

  • CAR insurers in a large coverage dispute in relation to damage in tunnels.
  • CAR insurers in relation to two large infrastructure projects in the Netherlands.
  • CAR insurers on the application of various policy terms and conditions arising out of the construction of a fixed oil platform in the Arabian Gulf.
  • Renewables insurers on the application of various exclusions in relation to a windfarm constructed on the west coast of Ireland.
  • Property insurers involving a complex, multi-party dispute concerning an escape of water at a well-known clothing manufacturer’s warehouse facility. 
  • Property insurers involving coverage issues arising out of a fatal explosion at a mining facility in Poland.
  • DSU insurers on coverage on construction projects in the UK and overseas.
